The Dane County Board and the Madison City both recently denounced the increase of hate crimes and violence in our nation, through unanimous passage of resolutions.  We know Madison and Dane County are not immune to such crimes, and unfortunately we have already seen them occurring here.

 

Our community stands against harassment or violence based on race, national origin, religion, gender, and sexual orientation.  We remind everyone that threatening hate speech is a crime.  We urge you to call 911 if you experience any harassment, violence, or threat of violence.

 

This following list includes local resources available to anyone who has experienced or witnessed hateful speech or actions, as well as for those who are not sure what they have experienced or seen.  Please share this list widely.  This is not an exclusive list, but all of these organizations have agreed to be a resource in our community.
