                              People looking for Jobs in Sheet Metal Can Register Today

 

MADISON - Friday, June 26th from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Project BIG STEP will hold a Sheet Metal Recruitment Fair at Madison College South Campus.  People looking for a career are invited to attend.  Project BIG STEP works with labor leaders and employers in construction to keep business competitive and promote family supporting jobs.  Project BIG STEP is supported by a partnership between Dane County and the Building Trades of South Central Wisconsin.

 

“Dane County invests in efforts like Project BIG STEP because it’s critical that all in our community have opportunities to succeed and provide for a good quality of life for their families,” County Executive Joe Parisi said.  “Events like this help connect those who want to work with those who need workers, and as the economy continues to recover there will be more building projects in need of skilled labor to get those jobs done.”

 

Sheet metal workers fabricate and install:  heating and air conditioning systems, exterior building ornamentations, gutters, flashings and metal roofs, kitchen equipment, metal counters, hoods, tables, cabinets, specialty items, industrial removal systems, waste material and collection systems; installation, service and maintenance of Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVACR) equipment; and Computer Aided Design (CAD) of HVACR systems.

 

“BIG STEP strives to provide a skilled, diverse workforce to the construction industry by creating a partnership between contractors, the building trades and the larger community,” said Bill Clingan, Executive Director of BIG STEP.  “At this event, participants will learn about a career in sheet metal from both the trades and employers.  Immediate interviews will be conducted for qualified candidates and direct hires at the event are possible.”
