An Apple AirTag proved very beneficial when the Dodge Caravan it was placed in was stolen Wednesday night.
At 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday, June 5th, Dane County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of a stolen vehicle from a Kinney Road residence in Pleasant Springs. The car's owner received real-time updates to her cell phone on the van’s location. Sheriff’s Deputies and Madison Police Officers worked together to track the van, and when the suspects stopped at a liquor store on N. Sherman Avenue, law enforcement surrounded them.
The driver, Clevon Easton, age 48, of Madison, was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without the owner's consent. His passenger, 26-year-old Donesia Q. Wilson of Madison, was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant and a probation violation. While on the scene, Deputies had to administer Narcan to Wilson after she began showing signs of an overdose. She regained consciousness and was transported to a local hospital for a medical evaluation. Easton and Wilson are both being held in the Dane County Jail.
