Car Break-Ins

The Dane County Sheriff’s Office wants our citizens to be aware that we’ve responded to a number of car break-ins at local parks.

On Monday, our deputies heard from three people who reported their cars were broken into at dog parks in the town of Verona. On the same day, a woman reported her wallet stolen from her car at Token Creek County Park in the town of Burke. In this case, the suspect had smashed her window to get inside.

The Sheriff’s Office encourages citizens who visit local parks and dog parks to remove valuables from their cars. Anyone who may have information on these break-ins is asked to call the Dane County tip line at 608.284.6142. If you witness criminal activity at a local park, please call 911.
