Stolen Vehicle Pursuit

Several local law enforcement agencies worked together today to stop a stolen Kia Sportage and apprehend the five occupants.

At approximately 2:00 pm a Dane County Sheriff’s deputy noticed the stolen SUV traveling east on the Beltline near Monona Dr. Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver sped away, later crashing into another vehicle near Buckeye Road. The stolen Kia then continued north on US Highway 51 and eventually became disabled at US Highway 51 at State Highway 30 and the five occupants all took off on foot.

Sheriff’s deputies, with the assistance of Madison Police, Monona Police and the WI State Patrol, were able to apprehend the four juveniles and one adult. All four juveniles will be transported to the Juvenile Reception Center. Preacher P. Tribble, age 17, will be booked in to the Dane County Jail on tentative charges of Obstructing (2 counts) and Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Owner’s Consent (passenger).

A 13-year-old girl was the driver of the stolen vehicle. No injuries were reported.
