Dane County Sheriff’s deputies and Belleville Police have been on the scene of an armed female held up inside a business on East Main Street in the Village of Belleville.  Madison Police Department also responded with their armored rescue vehicle to assist.

Deputies were called to The Dam Bar at 1:50 am after the woman broke into the bar following a domestic altercation at another location. While in the bar the woman fired several shots.  The Sheriff’s Office Tactical Response Team and Crisis Negotiation Team responded to the scene, and residents in the five apartments above the bar were evacuated.

The teams communicated with her throughout the night and made several attempts to make physical contact with her. At approximately 10:20 am, she surrendered to deputies and was taken into custody.
