COUNTY BOARD WORKS TO IMPROVE PUBLIC AWARENESS OF LEGISLATIVE PROCESS

The Dane County Board of Supervisors recently rolled out a feature on the County’s Legislative Information Center that allows for members of the public to sign up to receive agendas as they are posted. The feature is easy to use, and already has 359 subscribers signed up.

 

"We are always striving to increase public awareness of the important work the County Board commissions and committees do," said County Board Chair Analiese Eicher. 　"It is critical residents know what we’re working on so they are able to weigh in on important decisions."　

 

For members of the public interested in signing up to receive agendas for certain committees, there is a short how-to video to walk through the steps of signing up. The video can be accessed here.

 

In addition to the new "send agenda" feature, the County Board has worked to increase resources for the public on the basics of the legislative process. Additional information on the duties of the standing committees, an outline of the legislative process, and a series of videos that show how to use the Legislative Information Center are now available on the Board’s website.

 

"The Board wants the public to be a part of the decisions we make, improving awareness of the process is such an important step," said Chair Eicher.
